hi all :)
well today ive fitted a driver side lock barrel which went to plan.when testing closed with remote and open with key i notice the indicators flashing which got me thinking about the alarm. anyhow lights flash, can hear relays clicking but no horn and also the led on dash not working. now i know there suppose to be a switch in the bonnet area for sychin key fobs. problem here is i dont have one.ive checked and nothin and no loose wires. so were abouts would this be normally driver or passenger side. also with this swtich missing would this cause the led on dash not to work as in complete a circuit. and finally is there a seperate hone for the alarm. any infor appricated

With my 94 if I lock with the key I have to open with the key or the alarm goes off and stays imobalised. Same with key fob,its one or the other with mine. Thankfully my sirens been cut:)

i know what you mean about the siren going off. also as i only have the one fob i be needing the switch to for synic, thanks for infor

I think it depends if its a 1 or 2 button fob,but I remeber hearing something about locking it 4 times to sync the system. I could be well off there so stand to be corrected. I only use the key at the mo as the drivers door actuators being a git.

yeah mines the 200tdi with a 1 button fob. ive read its the 1 button that has the 8 secound sequence which includes the use of the bonnet switch. those fobs are fetchin really high prices now.

Bonnet switch positioned on the near side inner wing and is pressed closed when the bonnet is closed.
If you have a 200 series the immobilising of the engine is set manually, key or fob.
