bobtail or not...

another good shift put in today...

serviced and painted both rear calipers...



filled the rear wheel arches with +2" shocks and springs...

...





ground back the welds from yesterday, and covered in filler...





filled, sanded and primed rear bumper...



and then removed all the jacks and axle stands...







all in all, she's coming on a treat...:biggrin1:

are u fitting bigger tyres? and/or wheel spacers?

Like it a lot!

It's got insa turbo dakar on and it will have spacers in a couple of weeks when my mate gets his deep dish wheels

I know the feeling takes so much longer than you might of thought

I am disappointed, all this work bobtailing and not a single bit of chequer plate riveted on hiding the scares... Means WLM is not going to have another dodgy-bob to 'discuss' in a lighthearted tone....

1st job was a slight alteration to the rear bumper, (clearance issue)



all suspension finished...





filler cap in, ready for the fuel tank, (next job)...



and then out of the car port, for a well deserved shower









its definitely getting there now, hopefully in for an m.o.t. in a couple of weeks now...

few more pics of deefer, been busy on all the tedious bits that no-one sees so its ready for the mot later today...

test fit of the front bumper, had to alter it a little as it sat quite low, which looked PANTS...new brackets lifted it a good couple of inches...



fitted and painted...



fuel tank fitted and plumbed in, works a treat...



rear bumper sprayed in stone chip...



rear quarters in primer ready for the final paint...

are u keeping that size tyre and standard arches? or are u cutting arches and fitting extended arches? and bigger tyres?

Fabbed the tank myself, holds around 58 litres of diesel

Gonna stick with these tyres for now, as I blew the budget weeks ago...lol

Forgot to mention that she failed mot on a flexi brake pipe, and because I didn't cut the anti roll bar brackets off!...so to mention another thread on here, that says you can't mot with no anti roll bars, it seems you can...

Shame about mot,its come together nice. Should look smart with a fresh lick of paint. Strange one on anti roll bar failing.
