BMW Tune Up - Just an Idea !!

Hey - loads of info about tuning / chips / boxes etc. But has anyone looked at going to a BMW 320D on the scrappy and pinching all the control bits and fitting them to a freebie??

If so, what would you need to pinch? I thought this was a good (ish) idea, as the TD4 is just a de-tuned BMW isn't it? If it isn't then it is a pants idea !!!

in short .. whatever bits you got off a 320d ..
you'd still have to remap the ecu ( ££££££££ ) to use those bits 'n get the extra bhp ..
i doubt that taking a 320d ecu .. n stiking it the hippo would work
at least not without some serious headaches
( e.g does the 320d engines use a vnt type turbo ? )

the larger variation was 1995 cc
( compared to 1951 cc of the hippo's m47r engine )
so probably different block / pistons .. connecting rods etc etc ..
