PITA bluetooth module is knackered (no surprise) so went for replacement(also shagged out) so going down another route.
looking for pin configuration on the 54 pin tyco plug so i can have a play about with some other units.... anyone got any info??? have been sitting on interweb for last couple of hours and think i've found every configuration except for the one i need... cheers in advance hopefully

Hello, I have 2006 L322 which suffered water damage to BT module. I found info on how to use the one out of a later year sport. The new one reads the address book on the phone and doesn't require pairing each time you get in the car. I haven't got the part number and pin out handy as car is off the road at minute.

Happy to provide details if this is what you are trying to achieve?

The later 2010 RRS etc. BT module works just fine with a power, ground and the MOST plugged in. +ve is pin 31 & -ve is pin 15 on the new module.

Here's the one I had in mine. Secure it in place of the old one with a bit of self-adhesive Velcro or double-sided adhesive foam tape.

pin out on the original BT unit would be handy if you could pass it on.. Interesting to see that the unit out of the 2010 is still marked up as ford and not labelled as land rover. However, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck etc.....
to that end, i have got my grubby fingers on a milf 2 unit out of a bmw so i'll have a stab at that

What year and do you have a pic of the connector?

It took some time to untangle JLR from the Ford PAG parts bins...Screenshot (538).pngScreenshot (537).png All the 'interesting' stuff is on the MOST, the electrical connector just supplies +ve, -ve & infotainment switched +ve input. There is no need for the switched +ve with the later module as it powers down once the MOST goes dark.

Just gotta love this forum...soooo much knowledge. BTW supposed to say MULF2 not milf as that's completely something different!
The pin configuration is the same and plug is almost identical, but as the plug is made up of a 36pin and 18pin two part slidey into the main carriage affair, i have the correct outer section on its way to me. The BM unit covers a feck ton of years and a shed load of models. I'm going down the route of supplying the unit with a plus and minus and a switched as necessary. fibre plug is slightly different as well. That is also on the way.

I changed mine to one out a disco 4 (mine is a RR 2008) following thread over on fullfatrr ( sorry had to say it) and now phonebook loads in alphabetical order not all over place like before and network and signal displayed.

cheers for the intel, got to add on that i dont really need the BT unit, its more the fact that as the Missus and myself are going to keep the car so i just want everything up and working. That and the fact i'm so bloody minded that i WILL make it work....
The Gap iid tool is a wonderful piece of kit but can't use a soldering iron or read a wiring diagram.
Any idea what year the disco was that you got the unit out of???? (just in case)

The Nokia ones were 'OK' for the time they were specified (2003/4) but Bluetooth tech moved pretty fast in those days, the supported handsets also had quite a short life until everyone started to hang onto them thanks to the banks spending money we didn't have to give them!

Just search for the AH42-10F845-xx engineering reference, the last two (AA in my photo above) can be different and just indicates a minor change or initial software level. They came in with 10MY on L319/L320

The Nokia unit was working in my car but after upgrading the Bluetooth unit in my 2004 (yes yes ok yet another thread on fullfatrr) the way the phone book appears on the screen was a disappointment and not simple to use so I just got fed up with it and did the change.

I've pulled the plug on that site, it seems unless you're a lickspittle to that 'clown-tech-craig', his tame mod and a couple of other know-it-all's, your posts with corrections get blackholed...

ok here goes....BMW unit now plugs straight into the car after a small trim down of the 54 pin plug and also found that the MOST plug also fits straight into the hole on the unit (after you remove a plastic adaptor which clicks into place).
After realising the unit needs an earth it sprung into life, but only for a short while, and then stops dead. Unplugged the unit, rechecked the earth connection, plugged it back in again, hey presto back in business and same again....While unplugging and plugging, i noticed that there is a nice shining red light coming from said unit and, on a whim thought i might try the old unit.
To my surprise the same thing, little red light and when connected up all works fine...and then stops. Take the MOST plug out and sling a bypass plug on it and back to radio working fine.
Going to sit and prod about with the multi-meter tomorrow to see what i can discover, but there is definitely something hinky going on.
Any one with any other ideas????

Have you got the MOST connector the right way round? there should be a lit & dark fibre when you cycle the infotainment power, the lit fibre should go to the dark side of the MOST connector on the module. It's also possible the switched +ve on the harness isn't switching or has corroded / poor pingrip.
The bypass loop as you've mentioned, proves the MOST is intact and functional, the loop doesn't care about orientation though.

Sounds like it's not handshaking with the other most devices and shutting down. Once it shuts down it kills the rest of the network.

omnipresent as ever! I'll double check the MOST plug tomorrow although it obviously only goes in one way and check out the switched live which seems to be what's happening which may explain why the working or not, as the case may be...
