Found this while surfin, wouldnt want this to happen to mine.
Anyway this is what happens when yer turbo oil seal goes and the engine runs from its own oil supply.

Yep, bet that was a few bob, more than just a jubilee clip.
I'd have tried stalling it instead of rushing to get mi camera, allthough if it'd have been going that speed, I'dve been in orbit.
Never seen anything as dramatic as that before, not from a landy anyhow.

WOH~~~~~~~ not nice.......
Ive only seen this happen once but that was on a sherpa van in the workshop ( we went and hid behind the trucks laughing like fook as the guy who started it ran around like a chicken with its head cut off LOL ) .

But thats horrible when its your own :( .

.

Dont think it would have stalled, I once had a V8 Merc truck which the throttle thing fell off and it was reving at about 2200rpm. Couldn't stall it, the clutch was just burning out, managed to get my hand over the top of the engine and shut it off with what was left of the throttle.

Well I tried to stop a d8 dozer with the hand over the intake idea, I wont be doing that again, page 3 girls have nothing on a 6.2 international.

Yep it was mi german bands, not even I'm that stupid.
I spose the geyser was scared to take off the induction pipe, thats why he was hiding, squashing the pipe over by hand might just have stopped it.
The landy had been stood for ages, so it probably wasnt insured, must have been a ****er.

well this happened to me with my bodged up prima in my old series about 6 years ago.
I was out playing in the woods and went up a bank, oil went to the back of the sump and it just sucked it straight up!
luckily i managed to stall it and luckily the clutch was fine. i couldnt see around me for about 5 minutes.
engine was not long rebuilt with new shells and rings so they were bedded in pretty fast.
from then though it breathed like a bitch and doing 60 miles a day in it would catch about a litre of oil a day in a coke bottle from the breather!
Good times!
