Well started the old girl this morning and the car sounded like Chav’s car who had spend £1000’s on a noisy exhaust for the pink chariots

Called in at the local quick fit to find that the manifold is a dealer only part. !! called in the local LR dealer Strathstone to find that the can order the part in on back order and charge god knows what to fit it.

Moral of the Warranty

Called the Network Q help line to see if I was covered,

EXHAUST NO

MANIFOLD YES

GASKET YES

LABOUR YES

7 DAYS CAR HIRE YES

a good result with the exception of the front section of the exhaust., the bill for the above should more than cover the cost of the extended warranty

If your is due to come up I would certainly think about it

good result! sumtimes they are worth it:D

most warranties have a "wear and tear" exception - i assume that this is why the exhaust aint covered?

Got the old girl back today in working order and walked away without paying the £323 bill for parts and labour.

Runs better than ever and without any cabin fumes and loss of power

I have just found that my manifold has blown :(
And only 3 months after my head gasket went! I am really staggered. And now I know how much it will cost me I want to cry!
My Freelander is REALLY peeving me off just now.
Defo gonna take out warranty on it this time again. Seems like it cant go a year without something going wrong with it.

I am kind of hoping that it should ahve been noticed back when the head gasket and Exhaust box and stuff was replaced 3months ago. Don't think I have a chance though :(
