Hi all,
I have a 2009 FL2 and yesterday the blower would not switch off it seemed to be running flat out with the ignition off and the key out. I had to disconnect the battery to stop the blower. Has anyone encountered this problem before. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure how the heater fan is powered in the FL2, but it's likely powered via an electronic controller. The best thing is to get any codes read for the HVAC system.

Tried connecting the battery, closed the bonnet and locked the car. This made no difference the blower was on the whole time until i disconnected the battery again.

If you turn on the passenger map reading light (there will be 3 lights near the interior rear mirror, left and right are the map readers) and lock the car, the light should go oft. If it doesn't then one of the relays is staying on, supplying power to the car when it shouldn't.

On an older car like the FL1 the key turns to move a switch which appliies or removes power to a lot of the electrical items on it.

In a more modern car like a FL2, most of the cars electrics are powered in stages. When you unlock it, or put the "key" fob in the dash, or press the Start button.

If yer interior passenger map reading light stays on when the car is locked by the remote fob, then it means the computer hasn't told one of the relays to turn oft. Or more likely the relay is broke'd and staying on by itself.

I tried connecting the battery and putting the front, rear and glovebox lights on and they all stay on when locked. I couldn't see map reading lights as my front and rear one are just one light.

Spec's changed over the years so yer may not have them. But the test proves my theory of some of the electrics are not switching oft when they should. Hence why the blower and interior lights stays powered. I will have a think about this.

Still thinking about this and how we can solve it or break down the fault. The blower fan will be controlled via a relay in the engine bay fuse box. It's staying on because it's not turned oft. Same for the interior light we tested. Power to them is controlled by the Control Junction Box. Essentially a box of electronics which is software controlled. I think it's not responding to the request to switch things oft, or it can't. If communication to the CJB had failed then all sorts of things would go wrong. Currently looking for a common power relay which powers multiple items, if it eggsists that is. The control junction Box is behind the glove box.
