just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem and if im right in thinking what i am.....

i have dodgy rear brakes on my 300tdi, the pad slips down and rests on the disc, so while moving its grooving in to the disc, ive replaced my pads a few times.... but this isnt the problem, im wondering if my calipers have given up ??? what would anyone suggest ?
im concidering a caliper repair kit rather than a new caliper (just because of expense)
any help would be good???

thanks everyone...

**** taking welcome :D although i dont need to say !!!!!

what brand of pads are you using? i have heard that with older calipers its sometimes better to use original pads as the pattern stuff may be a tiny bit smaller and the wear in the calipers and the slightly smaller pads means they slip down a tad, but then again at 30 quid a pop for new calipers surely that is the cheaper option and then you can stick with using mintex or whatever it is you are chucking in there now.

GummyBear had this happen with a set of new pads and they left an awful groove in his discs. He fitted better quality items afterwards I think and it's fine since.

I have fitted new pads all round and got a good brand and have had no issues even though my calipers were rusty as hell.
