Hi all two probs today my dse smokes quite a lot on full load hasne one else had this prob I no u can get a carbon build up but it should clear. It smokes a lot and clears a bit just wounder if there is ne thing I can do

Mine is the same, even when it had the original chip it smoked quite a lot at the start of a hard acceleration. The performance chip didnt help. Since adding the bigger intercooler the smoke is less but still present.

I tend to think of it as a feature rather than a problem. When a jerk in a BMW or an Audi (sorry to all the owners of the above) starts to visually or audibly complain about my speed (well, actually the lack of it), i just floor the accelerator. The phrase "all gone up in smoke" comes to my mind (and a load of sticky black gunk comes on the idiot's windscreen).

Mine doesn't smoke as much as it used to but I have changed the map sensor recently as it had a fault code logged for it

Easy start is the best decarbon cleaner ever with out the need to remove parts that stuff is awesome air filter always first injectors at worst all my landy diesels have a puff of black when started, hard, acceleration or at night when headlights are beaming the smoke trail looks worse an night all diesels smoke a bit as long as its not excessive ie all the time and mega black

Easy Start is simply Ether. Too much of it can bend a conrod. It should NEVER be sprayed directly into the venturi. Only across it so the engine sucks it in. Be warned.

also, be careful it doesn't become addicted to the stuff. we had a fork lift that would not start without it. and that was after having changed everything, it still needed it fix :D

Bloody hell 300 you must have a had some pretty knackered diesels in your time. :D:D

When booted my leaves a large trail of the black stuff in its wake too....I just thought that's what old diesels do.....

Keen to see any answers on this one...

My P38 doesn't smoke at all, although I did replace the fuel injectors last year. It did smoke a bit on startup when number 4 injector was leaking.

Our generators, on the other hand, cause a hazard to low flying planes when we fire them up every few months to test. :)
