Chris is there any chance you could post a side on pic of the new inner wing you have please looking to get an idea of what I need to cut out in prep for ordering mine soon regards Alex

Kev..... that would have been good, but tis all in.
The welding is shyte though, wind kept blowing gas away and ending up with porous welds.
Took me all day to put these two patches in.
Grind back, weld, grind back , weld.
There are still a few pin holes, but that’s what sealer is for !!!

I haven’t posted a piccy of the other side, as it looks like the boils on a witches snatch !!!!!! Good job it’ll be covered with the trim.

Yeah. It’ll be next week though.
Do you want a piccy of the ‘hole’ where it goes or a piccy of the new inner wing?
I got the inner wings from Froggarts.
Have a looksee on their website

Plucking up the courage to go out and start today it’s been raining all morning and 2 flat tyres to pump up so can be moved into a workable position :(
Start a thread mate - there’s a few of us doing disco restorations and we can aid you with it as one of us will have done the tasks you’ll have to. I guarantee that!!

Looking good Chris. Far tidier repair than me main one. One of mine went perfectly, the other one was same story as you, blowing through etc. I finished mine and covered with fiberglass to totally seal. Haven’t even sanded it back yet. Will need to get them together once you’re done and get some pics so I have some before and afters to look back on when projects are no more and electric cars drive themselves :(

Resto that is the plan have all pics to transfer from phone to pc first and was going to start a thread once parts start arriving may get round to sorting pics this afternoon as weather is a bit crap here today

same story as you, blowing through etc.
a 'cheat' for butt-welding (where theres acces) is to clamp a piece of copper or brass on the back-side of the joint, the weld puddles aginst the copper or brass & its easier to weld thin metals with less burning holes or porosity, also helps to have a tarpaulin draped as a 'tent' to block windo_O

Rich.
