Hi Tezz

It's a clarke 151te. Bought it on vat free day.

Ok, today's update.

Big plate welded in and little one on A pillar .

Not too bad welding. Puddle welds were a bit puddly. Lol

Quick first coat of Bonda primer before weekend rain.

Cut a bit more out in between rain ....

What's this triangular piece for , and do I need to remove it if I replace my sills with box section ???

That is the sill end plate.if i was vox section the sill i wouldnt efit this.id cut it back and plate off the end of box section.

After a small patch on my sill this weekend has left me wishing id av just box sectioned them

Thanks for info haigy.

so I cut the end marked red, and then weld it to the box section marked blue ??

or get rid of it altogether ??

You don't want to remove it completely- it protects the body mount on the inner sill from catching all of the crape thrown up from the wheels. There should also be a smaller one behind it that is right up against the mount.

I made a pair of these, and the one next to the body mount is in my post crash repairs thread if you want a look - it doesn't need to be complicated thankfully :)

I made some that looked similar'ish when I changed sills, as it gives floor pan a bit of support and also stops vibration. Cracking thread by the way.

Yeah thats the 1 chris id just plate the end then fab up a piece to cover the mount like being said now. If the 1 thats on it at min os good enough cut it off then reweld it in place to your box section sill.

Youl have 1 at the back aswell doing the same job as front but this 1 can be welded to rear of mount to protect it and in to rear arch.

Thanks for info haigy.

It'll be a while yet. I'm thinking in this order
1 rear crossmember and hole in chassis/mount (to try and keep everything square)
2 sills
3 behind quarter panels
3a 'bottom of 'c' pillars
4 rear wheel arches
5 hole in chassis, when I get boot floor out.
6 new length where middle row seats bolt to
7 boot
8 replace tail door hinges
9 Front suspension
10 new inner wing

Or do you think I should I do 3 before 2 ??

I'm keeping inner wing till last as I don't want to buy it yet in case I give up !!

Today's update....in between showers, again !!!

Finished cutting out rotten bits in footwell.

Scraped off that rubber stuff that's glued to the floor, gave all the rusty looking bits the 'hammer' test :)

Cleaned up and gave floor a dose of fertan.
