I soaked the big A frame nuts in release oil for days/weeks, and n/s one came off quite easy. The other one started ok but had to get heat gun on it halfway through. ........ I think heat would be the way to go if they are ba****d tight.

Seam sealed and 2nd coat of red.

Bashed my head getting from under Disco. :(

Gonna be bit chilly over weekend, start painting black next week if weather’s dry.

I'm hoping to do a bit of welding this weekend. I don't care about the cold, just not rain!! Paints a bitch to go off in the cold isn't it. That axle is taking ages to go hard even in the hallway :D:D:D

A frame on. Bolted but not torqued yet.

Dilemma........

The Disco is being worked on, on a slight slope which goes down from front to back and also down left to right.
Reading stuff, it says car should be level and bounced up and down at the rear, and then torque up bolts.
....
Any suggestions.

I was thinking just do the bolts up tight, and when it’s all finished, take it to the MOT bloke and book it in for 1/2 hr labour and get them to slacken then, do all the necessary bouncing and then tighten up.
Mot bloke is pretty good, he’s pressing out my bushes for me. :)

But will it cause any problems to my polybushes or Disco if I drive it “unseated” properly?

Ooooops photo .....

Got all the bolts from YRM.

All A4-80 stainless except the big fekkers at the end of A frame.

I thought about doing it on quiet lane, but as it’s sorn’d it would be just my luck if local Heddlu came along and busted me.

No welding today. Car too wet.

So I worked on wheel hub.

Took disk off. Took bearings and seals out.

Cleaned off crud ready to paint.

I thing the stubby is a bit worn though. Not worth putting back on. Bearmach up the road ,£17 for new one.

What you think??
