Why would I need to check the coolant on my ultra reliable V8, have you had a bad experience, through lack of maintenance **** face?

Checked brim to brim and returning 18 to 20 mpg...:D
It is serviced regularly, tyres at the right psi. It runs good.
I driven others that get 10 - 14 mpg but I loom after mine...:)

I must confess that my old V8 used to get 21mpg on a run from London to North Wales...but around town only about 12 to 14mpg... me DSE now gets 24mpg everywhere.

Therefore; on a run the V8 was better than the DSE...but for everyday use the 24mpg against the 12 and infrequent use at 21mpg is much better. It starts and doesn't need to be tuned for summer and winter... she just starts and goes.

I don't think I'll ever go back to the V8.

I fitted a hot start fix about 6months ago and my MPG fell from 24 to about 19. I checked the installation and found the connectors where not making proper contact. I can't explain it - but when I refitted it - the mpg went back to 24.... Might be worth checking the connections in this weather.

The long term average on a brim to brim basis on my 2000 DHSE is 24mpg, on long runs it has topped 30mpg. On a day to day basis the message centre gives 26 to 28mpg and up to 34mpg on a long run, it's way out. It even manages 21/22mpg with the caravan. Of course I have the advantage of living in France with little traffic. 103K on the clock.
 
ive seen now that i have a small leak on the injector closest to the rad only a real small leak but could this make the diesel be pushed through faster hence using lots more fuel? thanks to you who have actually tryed to help and not just bang on about your v8s.
 
Hope thats the problem, have you checked your exhaust emissions for unburned fuel, drastic loss of economy is usually a leak or injectors needing an overhaul. Also getting fed up with childish pratts hijacking threads with no thought of helping with a problem, am a member of POCUK and you just don't get this crap, thought a forum was to help each other and rip the hell out of each other for any mods made. Not going to lower myself but guess where your V8 should go.
Let us know how you get on after you sort the leak
