Hello , i have a X reg 2001 TD4, only had it a month , first 2weeks i couldnt use it as it wouldnt start,(well now n again) the garage finally found the fault - Cam shaft sensor.

Over the last weeks ive noticed a knocking noise from the front also with a squeaky steering. Had it looked at by another garage 2day and was told it was the streeing rack and it is 2 dangerous to drive !

Cant believe ive been driving around in it with my 3 children !! it had this squeak since we had it , and just sprayed wd40 thinking it was just the plastic ?? then the knocking noise came so had it looked at

When we got the car on 1st April we have also have a 3 month warranty( thank god !!) im really not happy with the situation at all

surely the garge where we bought it off , must have it all checked over properly, why didnt they notice the squeak ??? they serviced it , put 12months MOT on it

Im still waiting to speak to the manager at the garage where we bought it from ... id love to get my money back on this car as it seems to have gone wrong since we had it from day 1 !! Do you think its possible ???

I would have a chat to trading standards with ref to a car being unsafe to drive with a major problem in steering after just a short while. Was the MoT carried out correctly etc, does the Trading Standards know of the garage etc....

Good luck

PS I presume that the repair garage are not taking the mickey as they think its a warantee claim?

Surely this is whycars are sold with a warantee? So that any poblems that are not spotted by the garage or buyer at the start can be rectified?

Don;t go all guns blazing to the delaer to start with - just ask them to sort the problems out under the warantee.

Cheers

Blippie
