well, i fitted the bearmach exhaust guard today and just thought i'd share my findings and grumbles with anyone else who's interested in fitting one. here goes...

firstly, they are not compatible with towing packs. period. i thought with a little bit of slicing with my angle grinder i could make it fit, but nope... you can see the notch i cut in vain in the photos.

second, i'm so glad i had the right tools for the job! i went to b&q before starting, got myself a decent set of 1/2 sockets and metric spanners. the 1/2 sockets came in very handy for removing the seized bolts on my tow bar, and the (not sure if this is the correct term) flexible joint attachment for the socket came in handy when one of the guard bars sat directly beneath one of the bolts, making getting a ratchet in very hard.

finaly, always ask a seller every question you can think of before buying a product! i think i'd still have bought the guard anyway with the pre-knowledge of it not being compatible with a tow pack, i just wouldn't have ended up cutting a section of the guard out.

and now, for pictures!

hope this has been informative :)
