Hi
I have a 2004 freelander td4.
No back seats. I have purchased the cargo/dog guard thing from the commercial vehicle. I'm trying to fit it to mine but having problems. I have removed the side/back panels (with the back speakers)to get it in but don't know how it should fit. Can't find any pics from the commercial.
Are there bolts underneath? Should I simply remove the carpet and weld it? Any ideas? Sam

The commercial side panels and floors are different to the seated models, so the dog guards were different in both vehicles. Simply removing seats isn't going to help, as the commercial had different sides and floor, meaning that the guard has nothing to mount too.
I'd source the correct guard, and fit the seats as the guard is held in place by the seats.

Thanks Nodge. Thing is I no longer have the back seats....and have already purchased the guard. I think it looks like a weld may be the only way.

Are you putting the guard in a different position from the standard mounting points behind the rear seats? If so you'll have to make up something to hold it in place, but obviously make sure it's secure. The factory mounting points are designed to keep the guard in place in a crash, even with the weight of a large dog impacting it.

I'm trying to put it in the same place as the commercial. It's a 3 door freelander. The back seat holes are not in the right place for the guard...if only I could find some decent pics of the commercial...

The commercial had the guard behind the front seats, not behind the back seats like the cars. The side panels are different, and so is the floor (the commercial had a raised floor), so you'll need to make up something to support it, unless you can get a commercial floor and matching side panels.
