If I have time, yes. On the basis that, although they come charged and ready to rock, they might not be fully charged.... but overnight on a proper charger and they will be. I'm not completely anal :D about this  - if I have a dead battery on something, and get a new one, and need to run the vehicle "NOW", then I do...

new battery turned up

tested it at 13 volts 15 volts running

surprising the difference in how quickly the engine turned over and started with the new battery

will get another smaller battery to set up on the other side of the engine via a split charge system

how often will u use this cooler?.plus the battery you now have, will turn your rngine over in any weather now.

got the waaco cooler , which is a heater and fridge , mainly to keep the water nice and cool for the dogs

will be plugged in the boot permantely as required according to the weather

there not spoilt , lol

these d3 are also power hungry with battery drain ,

has the aux battery tray on the other side of the engine, so can put a smaller battery in there , that will then take care of any residual drain and assure the main battery remains fully charged

therefore preventing where i leave the car for a week or so in the winter not starting a thing of the past

don't want the hassle, where a split system will resolve this for me

No it won't.
There will still be a parasitic battery drain from the main starting battery, not a lot according to you post #9 when less than 25mA is stated so not "power hungry with battery drain" as you state, if there is you have a problem which is why, "where i leave the car for a week or so in the winter not starting a thing of the past" possibly happens
Also if fitting an aux battery you will have to install replacement wiring to any aux socket/s fitted in the vehicle you wish to use or install additional ones from the the extra battery, maybe your not aware of that.:(

I agree that parasitic drain can be a real PITA:rolleyes:. However, I would hope, given the level of technology that the D3 contains, that LR would have thought of this..... and if they haven't, then they should have done !!:D

Presumably this can all be checked out though?:)
