It's also worth noting that Fiamm, Hopenke, etc will all have variations
on the above data - and Bosch don't even seem to use the "standard"
numbers - at least not obviously.

All good fun!

You got 096 in the list? I think that's what I got for the minibus as an
upgrade to the standard size one. Personally, I reckon the bigger the
better, battery-wise.

DIN one is, IIRC, 1 min at -14°C to 1.4 VPC, SAE is as you say 30s at -18°C
to 1.2 VPC, and thus gives bigger numbers. So if you have one with a DIN
(I believe IEC is the same thing?) rating, then it'll be a lower number.

096/1 540 110 63 278 175 190 16.5
096/3 595 125 70 18.1
096/4 650 130 75 18.5

So, half an inch longer than an 089, 5/8" lower, and a bit more oomph.
Sounds another good'un, if your leads will reach - it's a +ve near-right
layout. The 086/4 has an almost identical spec, but is +ve near-left.

But, as Richard says, other makers use different designations, and may
well have different specs for the same physical size. I expect if you
want one this week you take what you can find - the cold snap has
certainly finished off one of mine, so I expect there's been quite a run
on batteries.

Just to make things interesting, during this week I'll "doing" the
Defender batteries for the site - there's a hell of them!

Oh joy.....
