battery size for 1974 diesel

I am a the new owner of a 74 diesel and having problems with it starting - I am wondering what size battery I should have in it. I live in the jungle of Costa Rica and nobody seems to know anything here...is there anyone who can help me?

12v 65amphour will do.write down 12v 65Ah and wave it at em..
