Hi I wondered if anyone has had a similar problem with there battery on a 2002 disco 2.If I leave the disco standing for a couple of weeks when I go to start it there is not enough power to turn the engine over I have checked the voltage and its about 12.3 volts the battery is a year old exide heavy duty I dont think its the battery if I put it on charge for a couple of hours it starts straight away or if I use the disco on a regular basis its fine.I think there is something that is slowly draining the battery so before I start digging away I wondered if it could be a common or simple problem that others have had and is a easy fix
Thanks

To Siierrafery As you were good enough to post a very helpful reply to my battery problem thought I would give you a update. I took the landy to the battery shop where I bought the battery from and they tested it but said the battery was ok,but suggested that I leave it with them so they could do a drain test on it.when I went to pick it up they said that there was no drain on the alternator or any where else that they could find. The battery was 18 months old but they put a brand new Exide battery on with no charge and said see how it goes and if the problem continues to go back and they will investigate further I have only had it back 1 day so will see how it goes I think that the service from the shop was over and above what you would normally expect

Batteries do self drain and as they age they get worse, I guess they suspect the battery. Worth checking the charge voltage, should be at least 14 volts prefferably 14.2 to 14.5 volts at 2K rpm.
