Hi guys
The battery on evoque Hse 2018 keep going low, I purchased a treacle charger by I never get a 100% charge even leaving it on charge for around 5 days .
I thought of disconnecting the battery and completely charging it.
How would I reset it? Would I have any problems after disconnecting the main battery ?
Some advice please

You don't want to put treacle in your battery!! :p

How do you know it's not fully charged? How many amps does the charger provide?

Ideally the best way to charge a battery is off the vehicle, with a 4 stage (or better) charger with a suitable output, 4amps minimum

Hi Kermit
Thanks for getting in touch
The treacle charger is 15A and it has a charge level indicator from 25 to 100%level light on it .
Why shouldn’t I have one connected to it?
The initial question was to find out if I was to disconnect the battery would i then have any trouble with the settings of the car?

Sounds like the battery is on it's last legs, and treacle will not help it.
A 15 amp charger is not a trickle charger.
If the battery is not fully charged after 5 days it's time to pull your wallet out and buy a new battery.
As a test, check what the voltage is on the battery after 24 hours with the charger still connected, should be around 13.9 volts, disconnect the charger, wait 30 minutes and re-check the voltage, it should still be at least 12.8 volts.

Some modern cars have a specific order of tasks to undo the battery without causing damage or making tge car think it is being stolen. Should be in the handbook. You will lose your radio settings etc if you disconnect the battery although you can connect a second battery in parallel to prevent this. Normally if you open the car with the fob and with a door open disconnect the battery you will be OK but never tried with your model.

It's an Ejoke, take the car to the scrapyard with the battery connected and leave it there, problem solved.:D:oops:
