That ammeter is simply too coarse to check battery drain. If you want to keep the door open, simply close the latch with a screwdriver, and the BECM will think it's shut and allow you to lock the car. Then you can access the interior fuses while the car is effectively "closed"

I bought this clamp meter for checking battery drain & charging. simply select DC amps, and zero the display. Them clamp on the relevant cable to verify the drain. On the battery terminals with engine off, it will be a few amps. Then lock the car, and wait two minutes. It should drop to << 50mA in several stages as various things go to sleep. You can also try various 12V feeds from the fusebox to see which are not dropping & isolate the offender.

This tester is also quite useful. Pull the fuse you want to check & place fuse in the tester. Then plug the tester into the fuse slot, and it will measure the actual current through the fuse.

is it possible for the rear heated screen to work with the ignition turned off?
only reason I ask is I've noticed the snow and ice melts when it on the rear screen and the others are frozen up I've removed the fuse just incase

Is the light on the switch on as well?

With the engine off, no its not meant to be working, you sure it's not like residual heat? Like it was on, and you turn the engine off when it was on and the residual heat was still melting it?

Has to be a stuck relay, short in the wiring to the relay, or HEVAC / BECM internal fault. And as dopey it would drain the battery (quickly).

Not sure if Relay 11 is internal to BECM ? Check the current through F12 for unwanted drain. There shouldn't be any power to the relay coil when BECM is off either.

Unless you check the volts & amps we will never know. It could simply be the sun. Plenty of cars around here with light snow on one side only !!
