Had nothing on today so carried on working on the landy

Got a few bits done. Fitted the extended breathers, all run together into the engine bay, combined into a single manifold. Once the snorkles/cage is on ill run them up to the top. Used blue coz its pretty :D

Fuel tank breather was extended into the area behind the rear lights, easier that way!

Also fitted in my storage drawer. Much more of a pain in the ass than I expected, its not fantastic but it works and good enough for me.

Got all the gear I usually need in there. Quite supprised as I wasnt sure it would all fit!

Got to build the shelf which will sit behind the rear seats and house a pair of 6x9s and the disklok. Thats the storage side of things done then.

Raptor dash arrived!! Many thanks to Phil and the rest of the Raptor team for doing me a custom cut face plate!

Going to be a while before I fit it as i havnt got everything to go in it yet and my car sparky friend is away for a while...

It will have -
Touch screen double din headunit
Voltmeter (top left)
USB/AUX (top left) will plug into the back of the headunit
Carling cut outs for heated seats and leccy windows
Parking sensor off switch (yeah im fancy :p)
Blue Sea twin 5V USB
Standard 12V socket

fair enough! thats tough!

Second long motorway trip last night, just joines the M25, doing about 65, then POP, power drops off. Check my boost gauge and its a zero! Thought id blown a hose!

Hazards on pulled over onto the hard shoulder, had a gander, the main intercooler - turbo hose had popped off! To make things worse it was the first time in 4 years I left home without my tool kit!:rolleyes:

Luckily found a pair of scissors in the back, snapped em up and managed to undo the jubilee clip and get the hose back on and tighten it.

Set off and not 4 psi and the hose popped off again! Second attempt, got it as tight as I could and set off VERY slowly, was only 20 minutes from home so eased it back with tiny throttle movements, managed to stay under 4psi the whole time. Though i was doing 35mph on the motoway

Eventually got back, put two jubilee clips on. Going to buy some chunky knes like Bennehboy stop it happening again!

Toolbox is back to living in the landy now!

Hi there

How are you finding the 110s confort vs the 90?

By the way, I'm sure you mentioned it somewhere, but are you new shocks +2"?

Nice! I'd like a 110, but prices are crazy here in PT. Nearly everything north of €20.000, and mostly TD5s. I really prefer the 300Tdi.

On the shocks, don't they bottom out without the extended bumpstops?

Importing is just as bad. With our law you have to pay full plating tax in an import. I was once trying to import a 130 from France at €10.000. After tax it was well over €20.000.

Some cheap ex-fleet 110 HCPUs pop up from time to time. I've considered to get one and swap the whole tired engine, drivetrain (except the rear Salisbury) and interior with my mint-ish 90

Got some mounts for my Hi-Lift off ebay, £15 and they do the job well enough! Much better than the £60 price tag Hi-Lift variant! Since I havnt got a locking top cover yet used my pillar drill to put a small hole in the bolt for a little padlock. Not much but should stop an opportunist.

Booked in at Gigglepin in the new year for some +2 braided brake lines, I'll double check with them if I need extended bump stops too, I think I do but would rather be 100% before spending £80 on something I may not need...

I did notice the front radius arm bushes have deteriorated quite badly, so ordered some Flo-Flex ones. Personally never had a problem with them myself, since I don't have access to a press these style bushes make for much easier fitting! Of course new bolts and nuts.

Also bought a Paddocks HD steel steering guard as going laning in Jan and like the piece of mind! At £80 delivered I thought that was rather good!

Steering Guard is fitted, 6mm galv steel plate with 8mm galv steel sides with recovery eyes. Very heavy duty, served my 90 well for 4 years I wouldn't choose another.

Only just clears the RTC damper spring though!

So shiny!

When I sort the kit out going to spray it with Raptor Upol black but leave the eyes silver

Decided to crack on with the front radius arm bushes today, almost wish i hadnt! It has taken all day, bar an hour at the pub!

The Chassis/Arm but came off easy, the rear most axle/arm nut came out easy too, cut the nut off anyway to save time.

The front arm/axle nut did not. It appears the bolt had seized/rusted into the metal support in the middle of the bush so would not budge!!

Painstakingly had to cut inbetween the axle mount and hockey stick. After 3 hours of cut, grind, hammer, cut, grind, hammer it was off!

Burnt the old bushes out, aint got a press and does the job well enough, had to throw it in my wood burner this time as my blowtorch was playing up!

Bushes where a pain to fit, best thing freeze em for a while, makes life easier along with having a big hammer!

Ratchet strap to get the axle back in place and all done!

I do love seeing new stainless bolts!

I may attempt the other side tomorrow but it may well have to wait until after xmas.
