Back Window Problem

Hi My back door has been sticking for a while have to give it a bit of a push every now and again however today it happened again managed to get the door open however the window did not come down! Tried to do it with the electric button but nothing so had to lift the roof slightly (3 door commercial model) to shut the door. Now read on some other forum that i might need to calibrate the window by disconecting the battery leaving it for 10 seconds and so on but this does not work window still stuck even thou the door will open. So i tried the electric button again but now when i try to lower the window it beeps at me!!! Also before i disconected the battery when i went to lock the car the horn would beep to tell me the back door was not shut or whatever but now when i lock the car no beep even thou the back door is the same window stuck. Hope that makes sense any help would be appreciated?

Hi Earthling sorry to hear bout yer problem. . . .reet, so yer tried the re set , sounds to me like yer bleep bit is your door not shut bit. . . . .so it could be yer door latch mechanism, ,but long shot if you've got the removable roof their is a micro switch in the roof that can jam or be in the wrong mode, worth checking this afore yer door latch bit. . . .un best oh luck

So might be worth taking the roof off and putting it back on? being a a commercial i have never taken the roof off since i've had it!

I thought the microswitch would drop the window

IIRC The switch is on the drivers side, halfway up the diagonal side of the hard top

When you remove the hard top (commercial or passenger 3dr) the window drops, the window and rear wiper become immobilised, until the hard top is replaced or you strategically wedge the button down

See if the rear wiper is working with the door closed.

Yep

Tried taking the roof off to release the switch but still nothing door opens fine now just window stays fully up no movement what so ever also now when i try and operate the electric window switch to the back window it beeps at me is that telling me something?

Someone was on here not so long ago, with similar problem, we didnt hear back about the outcome. the local garage admitted defeat on the problem.

Can you hear the rear window relay clicking, its behind the trim panel on the drivers side (commercial just behind wheelarch). At least you will know power is going to that point, you might need a multimeter at hand me thinks

Phoned land rover today they seem to think its the regulator and quoted me £280+ vat to fit one I can get one on ebay for about £70 question is how easy are they to fit????

Easy as ABC, get the rear door cover off and have a look, it could be the reg, or a cable, or a loose connection

Is it just the 4 screws at the bottom of the door? Sorry not my thing cars

take them star heads out, grab bottom of the trim and pull sharply away from the door. The trim makes a popping sound as the push fit poppers release. its quite a satisfying noise/feeling , in fact a LR tech told me that you couldnt get a 2005 RR door trim off to upgrade the speakers. Yeah right same poppers in the RR only loads more of them. Once theyre out, lift trim up off the door

Quite possibly, although best the panel comes off for an inspection

I have taken the live off the battery waited 20 seconds and put it back on but window does not move i was told this was the way to calibrate??

Take the trim off the door and see if the cables are intact. Also check the door handle to see if the switch is working properly. Will the window go down on the dash switch or with the key in the rear door lock?

When i pull the back door handle the door opens fine and yes i can here the clicking if i pull the handle when the door is open. The electric window switch beeps at me when i press to lower the rear window!

Window should drop when you re-connect battery...
