Went to sort my daughters pug out today she lives in Lincoln it coughed and spluttered a few times but in the main went like a train didn't use much fuel either . Then time to come home and it just got worse and worse holding back no power cutting out and yellow light on(right one) .If I disconnect the map sensor and then take it for a run is that a way to check that sensor ? I say map sensor because last time I had this much fun the map sensor was blocked .Best thing is as soon as I got home the bloody light went out and it seemed to run better

Right had the manifold off this morning and two cans of Mr muscle later and i have left it soaking in the stuff i used a bottle brush to brush the stuff in every where and tbh i have never seen the amount the stuff that is driping out of the maninfold  i am using some contact cleaner for the sensor . Could you tell me how long do i need to leave the oven cleaner on ? i was planning on jet washing it later and leaving it over night to dry but the weather does not look to good tomorrow and would like to put it together today if i can

A quick up date on this i have jet washed the inlet manifold cleaned the sensor put it back together and the yellow light seems to have a mind of its own for a few mins it runs ok then it holds back like a limp home mode, foot down only doing 30 mph then it seems to be ok for a min or so .Am i right in thinking the vacuum hose that runs from the egr mod goes to the turbo boost solenoid ? on mine i have a little lose black box that sits on the top that i have tie wrapped on because it is loose do you think it could be that ? sorry for all the questions lads but i am out of my depth a little here , half way home i disconntected the map sensor and it made no differance

It would but it started to rain and my hands were covered in crap so am sorry , i did make a thread about it a while back with some pics

That`s the best pics i have sorry it is about 2/3 inch long with a square cover on the right hand side and the vacuum hose and two other what look like vacuum hoses go to it
The best way to describe it its as iff there is a wire loose that sometimes makes contact and sometimes does not

First of all I am sorry to be a pain in the bum about this but this is the best place I know to ask, anyway last night I noticed the left hand turbo hose had started to chaff it had not rubbed through so for now I used black tape to protect it I also made sure the jubilee clips were tightened then removed the connection to the fuel rail 3 or 4 times (at the back right hand side 3 wires) I think I have the right one ? I did read these can get water ingress .Then sprayed carb cleaner in said connection and also at the sensor that is on the top of the engine in the hose .And that seemed to have cured the lack of power and orange light on the dashboard I really hope I have cured it but to be honest I don't know
The hoses I have noticed are very soft and I can squeeze them flat no probs I thought they would be hard .From what I have done does that in any way point to what the prob could be ? they maybe daft questions but never having a Freelander before it is a steep learning curve for me and I have tried to get some pics of the black box Nodge68
