Hi all, git back from Romania expedition and have a long list of to do's and questions. I will post photos in a separate thread.

1. Bigger tyres - Dave has kindly shared his experience in an earlier thread and I will be investing in some 265/75/16s to achieve greater ground clearance.

2. Diff lock - currently have no diff lock and although the TC works absolutely brilliantly and got me out of 90% of problems, I need difflock for the remaining 10% of situations. As I don't have the central difflock, do I need this if I was to get separate front and rear ARB difflocks / just rear ARB difflocks?

3. Lights - need more light at the front. Is it ok to attach additional lights to the main beam electrics? If so, what are the max. Amps?

4. Spring height - left rear sits 2cm lower than right (LHD car) and I'm thinking the problem could be along the lines of the D2 having different spring heights, which may have been fitted incorrectly whilst upgrading from air to coils (terrafirma tf230 2" lift kit). Could this be the case with the D2?

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but thanks in the meantime

I'm also running 265/75r16 tyres (Grabber AT2s) on our disco, the size works well and raises the axles/diffs up to give roughly the same clearance as a standard defender

What year is your D2? First thing to check would be whether your box has the internals already as then it's just an easy job of fitting the correct lever. If it's there, you'll have a spigot sticking out above the front output coupling of the box.

You'd be better off fitting a center lock before looking at Front/rear ones. I've fitted the linkage to ours to instate the lock and combined with the TC, I havn't found anywhere outside pay&play sites where I've struggled for traction, including a recent trip to Wales and Strata Florida.

I would wire the lights to the battery (via a fuse) and have them switched with a relay using the main beams as a trigger.

4.
Unsure, I'm still running rear air with 2" spacers.
 
I have a 2003 D2 and ive checked the box, there isn't a difflock spigot. I have a lt230 box in the garage but it needs reconditioning, but i'm unsure who would be good at reconditioning it. Bought it off ebay a while back but i dont think its in great nick...reconditioned boxes go for around 490 quid so i might just get one of those. Problem is i tore off the plastic front bumper in romania so need to spend a few quid on that
