Interesting timing... I'm thinking about doing this as well. There a billion threads out there about doing it... but not one of them tells me how much I'll need for a 110 chassis. Also interested to know about axle stands etc... vaguely considering just lying under it... there's loads of room!

thanks for your thoughts.
lying under it with farm jacks only is that safe ?.
weekend in Denmark? sounds good , but not good enough.
tried the massive joint trick only problem after i smoked it i could'nt be arsed to get the pressure washer out so went back in doors and had a Yorkie bar and a sleep .

having spend a very drunken weekend in Denmark many years ago i can say with 100% confidence that laying under a landy held up with 4 farm jacks is MUCH safer

Drive it up onto some railway sleepers. (give you about 4-6" lift)
Drive it up onto ramps. (up to about 12" lift)
Axle stands I'd get some with a minimum 3 tonne rating they are usually rated as pairs i.e one pair used together supports 3 tonnes.(300mm to 750mm lift depending on how deep your pockets are)
try this....

Good link

I'd not bother with the 3 ton (430mm lift), instead going for the slightly more expensive 6 ton versions, because they do 615mm lift. Much more useful in the long run.

liking the 6 tonne ones. would a normal defender jack get up high enough . is it ok to put stands on the axels.

Do not attempt to jack a landy onto 4 axle stands using just a std lr jack.. Get ya self a trolley jack Machine mart do an high lift model especially for 4x4's.

Yes stands on axles are fine hence why they're called axle stands.

I was going to do this soon, set up two ramps on the one side with a mate to stop them skitting away. The more room you can get the better.
