Hi AIl,
My 1995 300TDi is fitted with an Autowatch immobiliser but there is no info' in
the owners book as to what it immobilises or how it works. All I know is that I press the tag once unlock and twice to lock. Does anyone have further advice or a copy of the original spec' sheet ? Many thanks

Does it even work, what happens if you get in, press tag to lock it then try to start the engine? A 1995 should be factory immobilised anyway saying that I'm sure.

I think it is factory fitted but being 1995 vintage I am concerned that it may not be effective today and am considering replacing with more modern system hence my enquiry re what this 1995 version immobilisers.

I've seen a defender I want to nick but it has an immobiliser, can someone please tell me how to bypass it so I can drive away quickly without being caught?
Thanks

The Autowatch is not a factory fit, and may, in fact, be working in parallel with the factory fit. It was probably fitted to meet an insurance requirement, as the factory fit was not highly regarded.

If you decide to remove either system, then unless you are an extremely competent auto electrician, you should be extremely careful that you don't remove it without sorting out the ECU. Otherwise you could end up with a dead vehicle.
