Hi,

I'm new here as I've (almost) bought a 2012 110 SW. I don't know if this is unusual or a first, but it appears that the vehicle broke the first time I touched it. It was at a garage and started up fine when dealer got in. A while later time for test drive and I get in. It turns over for a second and cuts out. Does this a few times. I think 'immobiliser' and then fiddle with the plips for a few minutes, getting various horns going off and red lights on the dash. I think it was me not understanding how the system works and confusing 'lock' and 'unlock' on the plips. Anyway, it started eventually and drove to car park where we swapped drivers. Same shenanigans. When we got back, i told the garage and they are fitting a new immobiliser. So we're waiting for that to happen and I've been researching the immobiliser system. I'm thinking it had a 10AS and will come back with a new black box ALM system.
In my google travels I cam across this site:

https://remotekey.co.uk/land-rover-...liser/range-rover-immobiliser-and-alarm-ecus/

They advertise a replacement immobiliser system to their own design. I'm wondering if anyone has one of these fitted? I'm considering swapping the new immobiliser for the one this site sells, even though it's a very new unit I'm swapping, as the black box system doesn't seem much better than the 10AS, which by all accounts couldn't be called excellent.

Would it be daft to do this?

Andrew
