Hi all just seen this.

Any thoughts?

For Vehicles with Either A 6HP26 Or 6HP28 ZF 6-Speed Automatic Transmission Gearbox
Degradation in oil can lead to judder, noise and a deterioration in gear change quality. ZF recommend oil and filter changes after 50,000 to 75,000 miles on all 5, 6 & 8 speed automatic gearboxes to ensure optimum performance.
This is an easy change OEM (orginal equipment manufacturer) filter conversion kit for all vehicles using the ZF 6HP26 automatic transmission. This includes Discovery 3, Discovery 4, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover L322 models. From the factory a fluid and filter change on this transmission is a very lengthy process. The sump and filter are normally one piece and fitting involves jacking the engine up and unbolting the mounts, plus the removal of the exhaust.
The fitting of this kit is far easier. Once the fluid has been drained from the transmission simply:
Ø Remove the bolts from the old unit.
Ø Cut the old plastic sumps filter tube with a hacksaw.
Ø Slide the old sump out and remove the other end of the sawn off filter tube.
Ø The new separate filter can then be fitted and the new sump pan slides into place and is bolted up with the new gasket supplied.
Ø Once secure the transmission can be filled as per manufacturer’s instructions.
Ø The new sump pan also has the added benefit that it is manufactured in durable steel rather than the plastic of the original item - LR007474.
Ø 7ltrs needed for oil change.

The metal sump pan is a common 'upgrade' on the Land Rover Discovery where, due to a chassis cross-member being in just the wrong place, the RH engine mount has to be disconnected and the engine jacked up by 35mm to provide sufficient clearance for the transmission's plastic sump/filter to be removed. A common 'fix' is therefore to drop the plastic sump/filter far enough so that you can get a saw blade in to cut off the suction tube and then the rest of the pan will slide out.

The plastic pan is then replaced with the metal one with the separate filter as there's sufficient clearance to get the smaller filter past the cross-member and then the metal pan can be slid sideways into place & bolted up (shorter screws are required for the steel pan).

This doesn’t apply to the L322
