Auto Or Manual

It would seem the genral opinion points towards an Auto box then, I will be going out this weekend to test drive a few diffrent ones and come towards my own opinion.

Mike at Dynachip charges £250 and he comes to your door - he's a thoroughly nice guy as well.

Auto drives great and relaxed for school drop off. In snow and ice works well. Disco 2 has hill descent and it works great - tested it a lot last winter.

Also do a search on gearboxes on the forum and look at the gearbox shaft wear at high miles. Can get a madified hardened shaft but that is a rebuild.

I'd vote auto but they are both great.
