Auto M and S fault

Hi All Disco2 Auto 54plate. Havn,t had it long when the Auto box started faulting.
Flashing M and S lights on dash and limp home mode .
Read all the threads about the subject and checked everything over. Battery and alternator on the top line. Bought a new XY switch and thought I had fixed it but the fault returned. Got local independent to put on test book and tested ok. Tryed swopping the ecu with a friends disco and no change, Bit the bullet and pulled the loom out and found damage to loom at the clamp not where it rubs on the top of the auto box. simple task to repair and to date no further problems. Hi All . Latest problem ............. Auto box has started to hunting in 3rd gear. I can Have put in drive or pull back to 3rd and under light throttle it seems to hunt as though it was trying to change up another gear. i have changed the oil and filter twice recently as it was slow for converter lock up. thats now greatly improved. has anyone got any ideas or experences of this???????
