I've searched for previous replies.
I can see the photoelectric fluid is droppping (don't know where - can't find a leak onto dashboard).
If I press the glass, it pushes fluid back up.
If I take mirror off and have a look - can I fix it?
If I clamp the outer casing down really hard to flatten glass more, it may push fluid up.
What do the experts think?
Or is it knackered anyway?
Green light works, don't know what the red one next to it is for.
300tdi 1996 ES - all bit are failing at moment - only 90k on clock (supposedly - 7 previous owners)

Got one in mine, never taken any notice of it but always have the green light lit. Saying that I have never been dazzled by a car behind me so it must work. I'll try and have a look in the handbook.

Your mirror is knackered.. I paid £122 + £20 fitting + vat for one back in 2001Pt No. is LAWR2146

It's the same system used in the RR P38 wing mirrors and if u knock them it's £250 + I have been told to replace.

I think I'd just get a standard one - or take it off - who needs to see behind anyway, with landy's theres rarely anything behind anyway!

Took it off (along with some off the glass - all I did was pull it hard after no joy with other methods) - Why the hell the workshop manual couldn't have told me it was on a bracket and all I had to do was SLIDE it down beats me.

So now had to epoxy the hole in the windshield.

Too right I'm not replacing it. Just sticking a normal one on.

Damn thing was impossible to take apart without destroying the casing aswell - just to have a look-see to see if it was fixable.

Do you reckon I can just insulate the 3 wires and tuck 'em up out of the way? Going to have to find a bloody wiring diagram now just to make sure that's ok ain't I.

Old mirror is on the work bench now. Just out of interests sake.
It was a right bugger to get apart. No screws or anything dammit.
