The car has been standing idle for a couple of months, apart from a block around the proverbial church...
We started using it again recently and so far so good...
Living in Ireland, cruise control does not do much, but a week or 2 ago, we doing a longer drive, it was later at night and the road was rather empty so I thought I give it a try. The button to turn the system on (left from steering wheel) is working, but the touch buttons on the steering wheel do nothing.
Hmm, while typing this, I just remembered that I recently installed a new after-market radio which does not have the option for steering control, would that be a possible cause for the non-functioning cruise control?
After that, after a bit of a dry spell and then some rain, I tried the rear-window-washer, but alas, nothing.
The pump for the washer fluid is working, but the washer itself does not seem to do anything.
On top of that, since this morning, the rear window won't go down full. It DOES go down a bit when opening and closing the backdoor, but it does NOT go down when using the button in the dashboard. I've searched the forum and a common fault seems to be the cable mechanism in the door, but if this were the case, it would not go down AT ALL, right?
The rear door is usable at the moment (a big relief for the dog , but it would nice to be able to open it up for some fresh air while driving.
Anyone? I checked the fuses, although I did not suspect anything wrong with that. The fuses are ok...
The car in question is an 02 TD4 3door automatic
