hi all,
i have not owned a auto before, so i would like to check something out, my beast is a 2000 td5 ES AUTO, i only drive it at the weekend (my work vehicle is a tug) i have to my knowledge no problems with this td5, but as i have had no real experience with auto's, so i ask this question, on a cold start, (after maybe 5 days) i have to wait a while before i get gears, not long, maybe 30 secs, its as if its filling up all the chamber and getting circulated, it sounds logical, so is this normal
regards

I have a 1999 4.0V8 Auto, and I can select gears as soon as the engine starts. I had a similar problem on the wfes old Mazda, and it turned out to be a low fluid level.

Cheers,
Mark
