I changed front wheel hub a while ago so I have had 3 amigo's stuck on since, trying to find someone with diagnostics to switch them off but no luck with that so been looking online for diagnostics machine myself but all expensive.
Eventually after doing alot of searching and reading online I found a autel md702
Brand new from main dealer on ebay for £125 all system version arrived today a week before MOT and worked a treat and covers what looks like all landy's and range rovers and a few other make of cars and a year's free updates so if you are looking for a cheap diagnostics try autel md702 or md802 version but watch out
for copy versions as they are about. I have registered mine on autel website so I know it is original.

suspect TD5 onwards.

MaxiDiag Elite MD802 Feature & Functions:
1. Enhanced OBD II Mode 6.
2. Reads live datastream and freeze frame.
3. Turns off warning lights.
4. OBD II code tips guide technicians to the root cause of trouble code faster.
5. Data graphing.
6. Prints data via PC

Mines a 2000 plate td5 I would need to check though it may do 300tdi aswell. If I could afford it I would have gone for the md802 all system but that was abit more expensive but the md702 does the same job on the disco 2. If you go to the autel website you can download the full list and models that work on land rovers and what they scan and clear. For the money they are really good it came up with alot more faults from where I have done some changes like removing egr and where I put k&n panel filter in which are now clear. I couldn't find another diagnostics to work on land rover for anywhere near that price I have cheaper ones that say they do from eBay but they don't work when you plug them in. although I have had them work on Japanese cars. I don't think it does air suspension but I haven't checked for that yet. And you do have to drive for awhile before the 3 amigo's lights go out.

There are 2 versions of this unit there is a 4 system unit and an all system unit the md802 covers alot more vehicles than the md702 but it does cover about 16 manufacturers not really counted them but I think it covers all landy and range rovers which is what I was interested in but I think it may do the same checks. I couldn't afford hawkeye or nanocom. the main reason I knew about autel was a mechanic used it on my disco a few years ago for abs fault.

don't know if this has all the bells and whistles of hawkeye/nanocom but autel are well known for decent cheapish car diagnostics.

I've got an MD802 & find it quite useful for helping with diagnostics and resetting fault codes etc. they cover nearly all the major manufacturers and as the wife has a Jag, sis-in-law has a VW, niece has has a Suzuki etc etc, it certainly earns its keep!!
If you only have Land Rovers you only need the MD702, I don't think there is much difference in price so depends on what you may want in the future. Not as much functionality as nanocom etc but very usable, I rate it as a quick and easy tool.

Usually about £200 on average for md802 for all system md702 about £150 I got my md702 all system for £125. They have a few silly manufacturers on there like bugatti and maybach which if you have those cars I think you would be able to afford a mechanic to do the work or you would be able to afford alot better system.
