Are Td5 R380 stronger?

Hi guys i hope you are all well?

In this months LRO mag there is a buyers guide on Defenders and in the review for the Td5 is says that the gearbox and trans box were upgraded to handle the extra power.

Any ideas on what upgrades were done?

The much-missed James Martin told me that the K or L suffix 380 were the ones to buy, presumably for that reason. I managed to find a couple of Ls by getting eBay sellers educated in where to look for the ID numbers!

Edited. forgot some of the details, so checked emails to confirm.

No, he's known for taking a break from time to time - he can get a little enthusiastic too in Anything Goes.
