Hey guys, just wondered if there is anyone in the Sheffield with Hawkeye diagnostics or similar, that would be kind enough to switch off my compressor for the rear suspension, as i have converted it to coil springs. The compressor is still pumpimg and it's driving me crazy. Lol.

3 variants:

1.Just pull out fusible link(FL 9) from engine bay.

2.Crawl under and disconect(and isolate) the 4 electrical connectors from the compressor assy

3.If u want to do a cleaner job cut and isolate the wires except pins 1, 2, 7 and 10 from the SLABS ECU's C0655 ....you'll get rid of the warning lamp too......u might cut them as to be able to reconnect them if u change your mind sometimes and want to reconvert to SLS.

Then u better go on variant 2 ......crawl under the car(read the info on the bottom).. unplug and isolate with tape connectors 1, 8, 10, 16 .....then release pipes 12, 13, 14 and hose 3...after that u can remove the air supply unit(it's bolted to the chassis)......I'd say just affix the wires and pipes upon the chasis somehow(clog the pipes with some tape too) ......u'll never know;)

If the warning lamp will disturb u then find an "wirely minded" friend and ask him to cut(reversible) the wire from pin 8 of SLABS ECU's C0655(u have the pic) it is behind the fascia(11).....u can give him some beers after selling the compressor assy:D

OR, if you can find someone local with a HawkEye, go to Body settings and when asked "Do you want to change to coils?" - answer yes.

This tells the car that is no longer needs to communicate with the compressor and sls system. There will be no warning lights, no compressor noise, nothing.

Afterwards you can remove and sell the compressor.

I've done evrything with the compressor. The only thing im struggling with is finding the ecu board behind the facia. Is it in the engine bay? i've take the glove box out, but can't seem to locate what im looking for. Thanks luke.

Sorry, I have LHD car and on mine it is behind the glovebox.......i dunno on RHD.......usually the SLABS ECU is near the BCU and the ACE ECU, if u find them be carefull not to mix it.

Is the slabs ecu, easy to access on your car? Does it say anything on it, so i know im onto the right ecu? Im just wondering if it will be under the steering wheel panel on the RHD model??? I'll let you know if i find anything.
