They always are thats why I never read them, how much did it cost if you dont mind me asking? and how long was delivery

Hehr Power Systems - Multi Battery Isolator

just wondering if they come recommended... i got a 130amp one fairly cheap to charge my 2 batts. for the winch im going to fit soon.

What are you intending to do with your two batteries? Both for winching? 1 for winching ? .
The reason I ask is that you need to know what you are going to be using the Aux battery for for the purposes of setting up your wiring system. If you are only going to be winching then you would be better with a switch system rather than a split charge relay. Tell me what you are intending and Ill be glad to advise you. IYC

er ok, i was going to use the second batt (ordinary one) to power the winch and the 4x55w lights on the roof. i was also thinking of running a seperate fuse box off it to power an inverter and poss my little coleman fridge.

so by switch system, do you mean, before winching flick the batts over to batt number 2?

Hey i'll pick ya brains if thats ok? I'm rebuilding me 110 200tdi for expedition type stuff so i'd be using stuff like outside lights chargers, compressors and a winch etc etc what would be my best option apart from a genny? :)

The way ive set up 110s before is with 2 batts under pass seat, smaller one of two for eng starting, aux(larger) for running fridge, int lights and outside floodlights for camp use. You will have fairly limited time for outside use unless you use LED type lighting. Then you have switch ( hella key type) to connect both batteries for winching to extend winching time and so that heavy current does not try to flow thru relay, as you can be using 6-8 times alt output when winching . Also enables to use aux batt to jump start eng start batt. Hope that helps

Setting your system up so that you have two seperate battery systems gives you a safety factor and redundancy capability. Batt 1 gives you eng start, and runs items that you use when driving. Batt 2 provides habitation supplies, i.e fridges, inverter, 12 v supplies ,for compressor, lighting. Forget about a genny as you will not have weight capability. An emergency solar panel battery charger is a better way to charge batt 1 in emergency flat situation. Once you have that charged you get the high output from the alt. or if the alt has gone u/s will provide enough current to operate engine stop for daytime running. As an aside , use compressor type fridge as they use far less current, and can handle high temps better. Split charge can be set up so that auto seperation occurrs when ign switched on and either can be done with special unit, or by using a winch relay. or using manual switch or a combination of both as I have suggested in previous post hope that helps .

It helps ISH thanks I ain't to good at that stuff never really done out like that, but theres only one way to find and thats do it I shall bear you in mind when I'm eventually ready to fit one if thats ok? then I can pick ya brains again :)

How long can the aux battery power things like fridge and lighting for when camping? How do you recharge appliances like laptops and phones?

:D
