Anyone know a good indie garage near Chichester?

As above, does anyone know of a good mechanic/repair shop for Landy's in the Chichester area? Ideally an independent/sole trader type of place which I much prefer to the franchised dealers.

I found Chichester 4X4 and Paul Rutter. Has anyone here used either before?

I have a Freelander 2 and have just put it into a "fairly" local garage. No names at this stage but if they turn out to be good I will let you know who and where. I have the usual problem of a warning signal of loss of traction so think it is the Haldex presenting a problem. When it's fixed might like to try some of this green laning lark.

Should have just gone to Keith Gott in Alton, I can't recommend them highly enough, very good mechanics and impressive parts stores with everything you could ever need.

Wow I can't believe the speed of your reply, thanks For the Alton connection. If my current garage doesn't work out I will certainly give them a try. Interested to see how the Freelander works out against the "proper" 4x4s.

There's also F&R commercials near Wickham. Not sure he isn't just series/defenders though....

Belated update regarding Freelander 2. My local garage wanted a more complete assessment of the Haldex situation so they sent it to Keith Gott as you suggested. I suppose that makes them a pretty good garage to admit their limitations anyway Keith checked everything using a micro camera where they could not reach otherwise. Gave it a service and a good report so eased my peace of mind. As you said clearly "the place to go" in the first place.

Well I hope the former are ok as they are currently converting my 2.5P Ninety to a 3.5 V8

Seriously, I went to them, 40 miles from me, based on word of mouth rep. They are Landy owners, only work on them and seeing a conversion done by them convinced me of their skills; the owner couldn't sing their praises enough. The workshop is always busy and there's a healthy waiting list!

There have been a few problems, mostly missing and non-matching bits (3.5 from a 92 Disco 1, ZF auto from a 88 RRC into a 85 Ninety) but they have contacted me immediately to discuss options e.g. when they found the small hole in the footwell was lots of large ones seriously close to the brake mounts

I'll let you know when I get it back, but so far I'm impressed.

I have heard good reports of chi 4x4 but they don't fit second hand parts. I have old discovery and need to find garage that will fit them even if I have to supply. Any ideas?
