Got range rover sat nav thing, thanks, so tom tom no good to me. Just registered with wayfinders and am still at the research stage. What I'm hoping to find is a gallery of of pics to give me an idea of what goes on or even an mpeg of a meeting (are they called meetings, a bit like a track day sort of thing?).I suppose I'm asking for it, but wotsa BOAT and a FORD?Oh, and GLASS ? Really, a place where there's chapter and verse on this thing'd really be appreciated. Any pointers? regs P.S

BOAT Byway open to all traffic (also called greenlanes)
GLASS Green lane Association
Ford a place where a road crosses a watercourse without the use of a bridge.

check out the youtube vids on the TOSSERS threads. for examples of green laning.

ok pete. These Satnav files can be converted to work on different SatNavs. So see it there is any way of adding points of interest (POI) to the satnav you have. To explain a BOAT is a Byway Open to ALL Traffic. in other words noone has the right to stop you going down it. Even if it does run right next to or through their land. A FORD is a shallow part of a river which you can drive through. GLASS is something like the Green Land Appreciation Society or something like that. RUPP is a Road Used as a Public Path i think.
These POI i have for TomTom came originally from the wayfinders website i think! So if your a member you may be able to get them for your satnav.
Meetings which generally go on are called Pay&Play days. Generally when someone opens their land in order for us to rip some mud up. They normally charge you £10-£20 for the day. You pay and then you play!
However i think there are some groups of like minded mud lovers who meet up in a particular area and go down whatever green lanes they can find.

Hope this is of help to you!

Got you up to 35, though. Registered with wayfinders and been on U tube. The search you suggested didn't display much green laning examples. I searched for green laning in north wales and got an education. In reality, it looks like I need something other than what I've got to tow my caravan. I'm hooked on the idea so I'll carry on researching-there's no shortage of beat up land rovers I can get my hands on for a day around here. Thanks again chasps. regs. P.S
