anyone ever used hand pull winch.are they any good?

i was hoping to get a winch bumper and winch for my landy 90 but they seem loads of money,unless anyone has one for sale at a reasonable price?so i have seen what they call a hand pull winch that will apparantly break at over 5 tons,are theese any good or has anyone ever used them you could connect a longer cable to it to give you the length as you only get a 5m cable with them..ta rich

I know someone who once had to remove a large industrial boiler with a Tirfor as nothing else would get into the confined space. Took 3 of em nearly all day...

untill you flaten yer battery, or it clogs with mud, or one of the cheap chinese components inside it oveheats and dies

Ive used mine twice,to pull me up though 6" of boggy mud up a 10decree hill. its pretty usless on its on. But while turning the wheels slowly i fould mine worked well. A bit slow though.

Sean, i only got one of them cheap boat winchs that go over a tow bar its certainly go me out the **** more than enough times

also my tufor is only a 1 ton one

oh i dont doubt that they would a few times, but they just arent built well enough to be able to rely on time and time again

and if your patient you will be able to find a proper lever winch plus cable for about the same as you'd pay for one of the boat things

oop just noticed they sold out - that musta been today coz they had loads yesterday and seem to get em in fairly regular...but i is gonna get one of them highbollik ones, they is the dog's draulics
