anyone else have a popping truckcab?!

Just wondered if anyone else has a roof which pops and bangs at speed?!

I think mine must have been stood on a few too many times or had too many logs dropped on...

Great fun driving with a passenger - hitting 60mph and watching them near cack themselves when they think we've been shot at! haha..

Any cheap solutions?

My hard top does the same,to much use as a work platform!

Mine used to but i fitted a decent headlining and virtually eliminated the popping also get a piece if flat bar 2mmx20mm and bend it to fit tight under tension from front to back and it supports the roof and gives an extra anchor point to stop headlining sagging;-)

A friend of mine has recently converted his 90 hardtop into a truck cab and said once he reaches 60 it goes off like a shotgun like you mentioned. He only uses it as a toy and doesn't use it on the road very often so fixing it isn't really top of the list of things to do. He did mention strengthening it with aluminium strips across the underside.

How you'd make a neat job of it i don't know?

Nice to know I'm not the only one! Might have a go at strengthening it from the inside one day.
Or I could drill loads of holes in the roof, you know - to let the air pass through...
