The 90 has recently developed a problem. Sometimes when i put the glow plugs on then go to turn her over all of the electrics will die:confused: and the only way to get them to work again is to disconnect then re connect the battery.

any ideas what it could be? im ****e with electrics:mad:
tis a 1986 ex mod 90 btw

cheers

only a guess but i would think there is a relay which when the glow plugs come on kills power to the other electrics. on mine the fuel guage drops etc. maybe there is a fault there and it is sticking on the position which kills power??? defo worth a look to start with. no idea where it is though but hope its some help

Have a really good check of the earths as well - esp the one from the battery to the chassis and near the starter motor

Had a simialr problem myself last year

If you wnat to try another ignition I've got an old one that you can have - I replaced it because it constantly seeped power to the heater plugs when turned off (had to remove the power to the plugs until it was replaced).

Let me know how you get on.

Simple way to check earth leads stick a jump lead from the earth terminal on the battery to the engine block and then try it.
Could be a duff battery?
