Slow starting after injector change.

I recently put a set of reconditioned injectors in my ex military '86 with a 2.5D n/a. It's running much better; smother and virtually no smoke going up hills etc. The problem is, it's taking a lot more turning over to get it started than it did.
Could it be something to do with the pump settings?
The injectors are set to the right pressure and the glow plugs are all good.
Any ideas?

Well you have obviously done something, slightest air leak can cause all sorts of hassle on the cav pumps.

Might be worth loosening and retightening each injector pipe one union at a time with the engine running, just crack them until fuel squirts then nip them back up pdq, then clean up the mess and see what its like the next day.

How do the leak off pipes link up to the injectors? do they use copper washers?
