As above, thinking of joining one for me and the wife, has anyone had any good or bad experiences of either?

im with Asda breakdown costs me £7.50 a month i get the RAC full pack from them

on my membership card it says Britannia Rescue

speak to yo insurers. sometimes they have good deals.

If you do go through your insurance, check what you actually get for your money. Ask em 'if you are on holiday in cornwall and your vehicle breaksdown, will it get recovered home'.

Some sales guys say yes when you actually don't have the cover. By asking the specific question which is likely to have been recorded to prove it you can claim back any expenses or demand recovery.

If you get offered breakdown cover with 'call assist' decline it.

I was with the RAC when I smashed my old ZX up 20 miles from home. They sent out a recovery truck from a different company who told me he could only take me ten miles in any direction. I had to bribe him with a tray of Stella to take me home.

I was with the AA when the accelerator cable snapped on my van, 50 miles from home. The guy loaded the van up and drove me home,no worries.

I prefer the AA.

I get RAC cover through my bank account, called them out a few times and they've been spot on. Every call out has been to my wife's Renault by the way...

Some of the cheaper quote only cover you a short distance or to the nearest garage.
The service you get when you need them depends entirely on how busy their fitters are.

I was with the as. They towed us off the m1 and left us at god side of the road for 12 hours waiting for a truck to get us home. And that was the start of the problems ... They are now owned by some asset stripping company who ever it is centrica sold it to.

The RAC is fantastic, been very helpful over the last few years..
I pay £6.34 a month for RAC...

Was talking to a recovery truck driver the other day after my clutch went! And he said the AA are getting worse (after I told him I'd been sat there for nearly 2 hours before they even phoned back and asked me again if it was a roadside fix and I told them again it wasn't) and he recommended Greenflag.

RAC are going the same way.

They have been bought by the carlile group.:(

I'm with AA, RAC and greeen flag.

I would look at joining greenflag or Brittania.

AA and RAC are getting to be more and more money orientated.
Forgot to ask about Green Flag to be honest, I'm leaning towards the RAC, or was. I'll wait for your feedback, which is coming thick and fast at the moment!

Im with the AA and have been for about 10years, gaylanders been piggy backed once when the rear diff collapsed, my BMW 840 shut the fuel pump down after hittin a speed hump a bit hard, sorted that and had me goin within the hour, bike broke down at just gone midnight as we were about to get on the chunnel, had that fixed within 2 hours, Mrs J has called them out a couple of times, ive never had a problem with them and would recommend them to anyone :D
None of them are perfect and im sure others may have had problems with the AA but i cant fault them

I've been with the AA about 8 years, and wont be again after this year.

Utter crap, I had to get my dad to come out and rescue me and sort the issue out the following day. This was with a 5 year old child in the car and waiting for 4 hours for them to even get to us. Luckily I wasn't to far away for my dad to rescue me after work.
