Any experience of Duxback treatment?

Spent a 'finger-endish' quarter of an hour de-icing yesterday morning. The Halfrauds de-icer nearly ran out before I got it away. The local main dealer is offering what seems like a deal: Twenty quid for a check over, valet and treatment of windscreen and front windows with 'Duxback'. Says the ice won't stick. Has anyone had any experience of this stuff? Is it any good?

Think it was developed for use on Boeing cockpit screens, never used it myself, keep us posted if you go for the treatment

Start the car 5 minutes before you leave and press the Prog button, simples.

Heated screen takes a couple of minutes to clear!

What no heated screen (or not working, like the bloody thing on our Mundeo) ? Not used de-icer for years, simply free the blades from ice, switch wipers onto 'intermittent' & pour warm water onto the top of the screen. Stand clear at the driver's side though otherwise you'll collect a dose of water as the blades sweep across!

£20 for a valet check over and treatment give it a go worth it for a valet methinks

Just don't let them near the inside with a steam cleaner.

Had it done last week. Fairly impressive stuff. Wipers a bit squeaky at first due to incredibly clean windscreen, but it has settled down a bit now. Coming in to work in the rain this morning it was actually better with intermittent wipes than it had been previous on constant, and then once I hit the dual carriage way, going faster the rain was just swept off the screen by the wind. And they say the ice won't stick either.
Got a really good clean too - nice to see the wheels gleaming!
They spotted a couple of wee leaks (which I'm living with until the summer when I can get underneath it in the dry) and wanted hundreds just to 'investigate'. Guess this is why they do deals like this, to try and bring in more work... Still, 20 quid well spent.

Ah well ... the ice does stick! Bit frosty here this morn. Didn't want to shred the wipers trying to clear it, so resorted to the de-icer spray again. Screen kept nice and clean once the ice was away tho'. But what a surprise ... something that isn't quite what its cracked up to be
