Any Defender TD5 owner in Wimborne area willing to help?

I am hoping to track a friendly Defender TD5 owner down in the Wimborne/Ringwood area. I have an intermittent Engine management issue that 'could' be the throttle pedal (see thread: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f7/possible-earth-fault-causing-defender-td5-issues-240624-2.html )

I could really use a bit of help to track down this problem with someone with a working throttle pedal assembly.

So far, really well equipped enthusiasts have told me that even with the dedicated Landy diagnostics, problems like this have only been solved with trial and error, swapping parts from a good vehicle and testing methodically.

Anyone who fancies a pint, lunch and their diesel paid for would be most welcome to an afternoon of witty banter and greasy finger nails.

you check for oil in you ecu? and oil in the loom?

All done I'm afraid, been and cleaned all the earthing points, renewed the ECU/injector loom yesterday. A little contamination on the round plug at the engine end but other than that nothing to write home about. Checked for chaffed wiring - nothing obvious.

injector loom wants changing even if it might not be your issue as it will be
i see you already have from other thread , its often worth checking alternator output through a test drive

It's not quite that simple. First of all you need to know if you have a 2 track or 3 track pedal.

Second of all your tv will never work no matter how many times you hit the channel change buttons until such time as you plug it into the mains. Check the wiring to the throttle pot first. I'll put money on it being the 5v feed missing.

Tested the throttle pot today:
B & J are paired, White Purple, 5 volt reference feed - both showed a good feed, just under 5v.
D & G are paired, Black Yellow Earth - both showed earth when tested against chassis earth.
Other than that I have no idea how to test any further.

Did a continuity check between the throttle plug and the ECU black plug. all three outputs showed no sign of a drop out. This should mean the cable is OK?
