Another newbie to the site.

Hi im Adam 18 from Kent. My Dad has had land rovers all my life and i have been into them since i can rember. I currenly own a 90 turbo and a 90 n/a just sold another n/a offroader. My Dad has a td5 110 double cab work/play truck, and Dad and Mum have a disco 2 td5.

I am a keen off roader and use my 90 thats pretty much standerd bar a winch and tree/rock sliders

everyone on here seems really nice, so i think you'll enjoy it. we are a disco family, my husband and i both have 200 tdi's as our toys and they are our regular workhorses too. FIL has a 300tdi play thing he's chucked thousands at, and a 300 tdi commercial that they have under the pretence of using it as a work vehicle at the transport firm he owns and dean works at....

Total virgin on here as regards to posts but has i can see everyone is really helpfull and helps if they can

So to my problem
I have a 90 TD5 on a 2000 palte with 87k on the clock, about 1 hour ago i lost all power in my engine when i put into gear and tried to drive, it just kicked alot of black smoke out the exhaust, when i lifted my foot off the accelerator white smoke came out. If no gear is engaged and reved the sound and noise is normal.

It has not shown any signs of breaking down just stopped

Has anyone got any ideas of what i can look for or at?

I am not the best with engines of fixing them, but i will have a go
