Firstly, hello everyone. Great forum, loads of good stuff with plenty of available brains to pick!
Just got my first Disco ( '96 2.5 diesel). It cost less than my freelander ('01 plate) was going to cost to repair and has 20k less on the clock. full service history, all mot's and aside from a few bubbles on the inner front wings its rust free.
Anyway, my question. I used to have an old series 2a petrol many moons ago. It was fitted with what I believe was called a quick-shift transfer box conversion which, as far as I recall allowed hi-low shifting on the fly. Is there such a thing for the disco? I've trawled the net but cant find anything, but there's no mention of the old series conversion either so thought I'd ask you guys.
Paul.

no, but what you had was over drive, not transfer box hi/lo,

definately didn't have overdrive. bought the converted transfer box from a guy who raced his old series off road. 4 speed main box, converted quick shift transfer box.
Not over important, but was just curious. Ive only been off road twice, once as a passenger. Always had every intention of doing it with each of the 4x4's I've had but always worried about breaking stuff as they've always been my main vehicle. Would really like to get round to it this time though.
Paul
